special re-post for Memorial Day to honor the warriors ‘The Hurt Locker’ Wins Big at 2010 Oscars (must see movie)
I was busy, didn’t have a chance to see on big screen, but able to see the DVD last night. “The Hurt Locker” won for best picture and Kathryn Bigelow won for best director. Director Kathryn totally deserved to win for her great art work.
The intro of the movie started with an unforgettable line
“WAR IS A DRUG.”
Director Kathryn used only 18 scenes to convey her feeling/thoughts and touched her audiences. In scene 17 Sergeant First Class William James (Jeremy Renner’s character) talked to his son (the following is Will’s remarkable script)
Sergeant First Class William James: "Yeah
You love playing with that.
You love playing with all your stuffed animals.
You love your mommy, your daddy, your nature pajamas.
You love everything, don't you? Yeah
You know what, buddy?
Once you get older,
some of the things that you love might not seem so special anymore.
Like your Jack In The Box,
Maybe you realize it's just a piece of tin and a stuffed animal
and then you forget the few things you really love,
And by the time you get to my age maybe it's only one or two things,
With me I think it's one,"
