Keanu Reeves in New York subway: Some stars are simple
This guy reading the newspaper on the subway is Keanu Reeves. And he is travelling in the New York subway just like other millions of commuters. It seems that the New Yorkers either don’t care or are just acting cool. However, he not just travels in public transport but is actually quite a gentleman.The Matrix star has had a tough life:
- His father was arrested when he was 12 for drug dealing and his mother was a stripper. His family moved to Canada and there he had several step dads.
- He watched his girlfriend die. They were about to get married, and she died in a car accident. And also before that she had lost her baby. Since then Keanu avoids serious relationships and having kids.
- One of his best friends died by overdose, he was River Phoenix (Joaquin Phoenix’s brother). Almost in the same year Keanu’s father was arrested again. His younger sister had leukemia. Today she is cured, and he donated 70% of his gains from the movie Matrix to Hospitals that treat leukemia.
This gentleman not just travels in the subway trains but actually gives up his seat to others!
Keanu has been noted in the past for his selfless nature.
In 2003 he gave away £50 million of his earnings from the Matrix sequels.
He handed over the money the costume and special effects teams of the hit science fiction franchise.
When asked about his generous act the actor said 'Money is the last thing I think about.
'I could live on what I have already made for the next few centuries.'
