Talking about donation, I would like to share this PBS 'Eyes of the Storm' video beta I got from a friend
PBS reported for the orphaned children fend for themselves in Burma after Cyclone Nargis in May 2008. Last year after the Nargis cyclone, we tried to reach out as many charity groups we could. We tried to send donation directly from local, so the donation would not be lost in government hand. We chose Phaung Daw Oo local school in Mandalay, the school have Nargis orphans. Donate there is like killing two birds with one stone. The orphans get shelter, and education. From the video, I agreed with New Yorker journalist said "education is not neglected, but destroyed." Schools (from kindergarten, elementary, middle, high, college to university) are ran by the government, so student can attend with very low cost (fee + book). But the curriculum is forced set by the regime. Therefore, it is true "education in Burma is not neglected, but destroyed." I also agreed the Burmese independent journalist said everyone has responsibility.
